Sheikh Abu Al-Kheir AL-Midani.
Sheikh Al-Midani was born in Damascus 1875 in Midan district, finished his early studies in Alrushdieh school then Anbar school, he was always the first in his class. His higher education was finished and went to Istanbul to enter the military academy but for reasons Allah wanted he went back to Damascus to finish his paper work when his mother sent him to sheikh Saleem Almsouti for a question, whom realized that he was righteous, intelligent so he asked him to study the Islamic sciences, sheikh Al-Midani wanted his mother approval first so sheikh Saleem went to her and convinced her and told her that her son will be:"SKEIKH ALSHAAM".
Among his teachers: Sheikh Isa Al-Kurdi from whom he took the Naqshubandi way, sheikh Saleem Almsouti, sheikh Mohammad kutb, sheikh Ameen Sowayd, and sheikh Abdulhakim Alafagani and from his students Sheikh Mahmoud Rankousi.
He was a living example of the Quraan manners, and the Sunna. He was always saying that:"Allah has created me for people not for myself".

This summary is a translation of parts of a letter written by sheikh Mahmoud Rankousi in 1961 as a response to a request made by sheikh Makki Kuttani.
The occasion was the memorial that was planned on the 40th day of the departure of sheikh Al-Midani from this life (WAFAT) , but exceptional reasons cancelled the memorial so the letter was finished by sheikh Mahmoud and a copy was sent to sheikh Kuttani, , Ajurrieh library , and Cairo as a response to Olama's request for the letter to be included in the biography of the famous Olama's there.
